BPI & Energy & Sustainability Manager

Improve Manufacturing processes&efficiency and coordinate Energy & Sustainability plans deployment on Site. Build a multi-functional collaboration within the Refinish business reinforcing the role of BPI, focusing on collaboration in order to develop an Energy reduction program and a long term Sustainability plan

Promote the necessary alignments across Refinish manufacturing plants to maximize the expected savings developing and maintaining a BPI projects strategy as well as a shared 5S approach

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the selection of the specific improvement projects, collaborating with Plant manager and Functional Managers to support budget plans development being proactive in cost saving opportunities identification.
  • Develop a projects savings tracker system validated by controller to reflect the monthly savings reached in the manufacturing monthly results for both sites.
  • Support the local team in coordination activities assuring projects on time implementation, 5S program execution and internal formal reporting.
  • Be member of the EMEA Energy & Sustainability Team, representing the Milan site
  • Develop annual BPI training plan identifying persons for specific training programs in Lean, Six Sigma and 5S, in collaboration with the Operation Manager.
  • Deliver training in BPI methodology in Italian working to increase communication skills of the local team and outside the plants in the other business areas supporting the Corporate BPI team.
  • Coordinate and manage different scope and complexity cross function projects in all the business areas.
  • Manage the communication with the upper level of the organization.
  • Work in a proactive way with Operations department (Operations Manager and Supervisors) with the scope to develop BPI initiatives in Milan plant production department
  • Update the Refinish global picture for BPI savings, Energy reduction program and Sustainability plan for the Milan site and maintain networking in order to share standard methodologies globally.
  • Support the Plant Manager and the Engineering Team to identify and deploy a mid-long term strategy related to the Energy consumption reduction and long term Site sustainability.


  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent in Engineering
  • Typically 2-5 years of demonstrated experience in the role
  • Productions and operations Knowledge
  • Proficiency on project management and process improvement, and ability to understand and provide solution to several problems
  • Forward-thinking organization of work, initiative and dedication, outstanding interpersonal and communication
  • Energy reduction programs proficient expertise
  • IT Skills: business Suite Office, database, Project tools
  • Proficient English. A second language will be a plus.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification Green Belt or Black Belt preferred
