The Raw Material Planning Manager leads the team that purchases raw materials, management of raw material inventories, and vendor relationship management. In this role, you will, assure high levels of service to the production team by ensuring well-timed delivery of raw materials orders, with accurate and timely entry of those same orders. You will also work to standardize processes across PPG locations, lead multiple projects, and handle strategic supplier relationships, including purchase order entry and management for a subset of suppliers. You'll use strong leadership, communications, and decision-making skills to partner with production teams, supply planning teams, customer service, and warehousing teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure Purchase Orders are placed appropriately and work with vendors to ensure low-cost service, high on-time, in full delivery, and handle deliveries as required
  • Monitor expired, obsolete, and aging materials to ensure minimization of waste
  • Execute Sales, inventory and Operations Planning (SiOP) objectives
  • Track receipts of purchase orders and assist in resolving issues and handle returns of damaged materials
  • Goal setting, talent development and mentoring of team
  • Generate project ideas for continuous improvement, lead/participate on project teams and complete DMAIC and PDCA projects


  • B.S. in Supply Chain or related Field, required
  • Minimum 5 years’ supply chain experience, required
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ management experience, required
  • APICS certification preferred
