Sales Service Representative

As a Sales Service Representative, you will provide a maximum level of customer service to assigned international accounts while working with SCM Optical Global Sales Team to ensure that sales and profitability goals are met. You will be assigned and handle major international key accounts that are of critical importance to the SCM Optical business. Coordinate all aspects of international order and logistics processing, while applying specialized knowledge of international variations in export/import regulations and legal aspects on the order-to-cash process. Maintain ongoing relationships with assigned key customers.

You will coordinate all key activities within the SCM supply chain to provide on time delivery to our customers. You will work with the Global Sales Team, Manufacturing Sites, SCM Supply Chain, Corporate Logistics, Credit, Forwarders & Agents, Transportation Carriers, Certified Packaging, and IT.

Key Responsibilities

             Order and international invoicing integrity to satisfy customer service standards and internal business information requirements is a significant responsibility of this position.

             Coordinate contact with customers, assuring accurate international order processing, suggesting alternative products and services, and providing support in the resolution of customer complaints and issues.

             Work with Sales, Logistics, Transportation, and Manufacturing with regard to product scheduling, capacity, service and systems issues, account priorities, customer ordering patterns, forecasting, and multiple customer issues that may arise throughout the order-to-cash process.

             Manage and apply working knowledge and application of Incoterms and payment terms; handle the review, processing, and approval of Letters of Credit, Bank Drafts, and Import Licenses.

             Follow the procedures and activities surrounding PPG Export Compliance guidelines to process SCM international orders.

             Communicate with customers on activities essential to on-time delivery of orders and complaint resolution. Provide customers with accurate information concerning our shipping capabilities and the status of orders from the time of receipt through shipment, delivery, and payment of invoice.

             Ensure resolution of unauthorized deducts (UADs) and support account receivable resolutions.

             Provide all international documents from Commercial Invoices to SLI’s so that the documentation for international shipments is done in an organized, and correct manner.

             Improve the effectiveness of the Team using Quality tools and processes.


             Bachelor's of Science or Arts Degree

             5+ years of relevant customer service experience and accounting principles.

             Knowledge of Logistics and Supply Chain procedures, Export/Import management

             Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office products

             Acute and expeditious in resolving issues,

             Experience with SAP and Oracle Transportation Management Software (OTM) preferred.
