Technical Sales Service Representative - West

As a Technical Sales Service Representative (TSSR), you will ensure Industrial Coatings, General Finish customer satisfaction by providing technical service and assume primary account responsibility from a sales standpoint by providing sales support to maintain and expand business at existing accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a territory which includes direct contact with leaders and decision makers at the organizations which include Plant Managers, Quality Assurance Managers, Paint Engineers, Paint Managers, and Maintenance Managers
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, executing and enhancing test plans at customer locations to ensure compliance with system specifications
  • Serve as a technical expert for issues related to pretreat, electrocoat E-coat, powder, and liquid paint systems
  • Meet with customers to troubleshoot and problem solve system issues, part defects, and determine root cause
  • Train customers on how to properly run titrations, system tests, and maintain systems for peak performance and efficiency
  • Effectively lead and supervise product launches, trials, and system clean-outs which includes organizing teams and communicating with several internal department.
  • Develop pretreat and E-Coat operating manuals to be used for specific systems
  • Establish operating procedures to increase production and reduce costs
  • Work with the diagnostic labs to determine root cause of defects and help implement solutions


  • Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years field experience with various industrial coating technologies including electrocoat E-coat, powder, and liquid paint systems.
  • Willingness to travel daily to service customers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and respect by working closely with the customer to develop strong relationships
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with an unselfish work ethic, a strong sense of self-accomplishment, and strong problem solving skills.
  • Strong digital literacy, analytical abilities, attention to detail, and technical report writing are required.
