Exploring job opportunities at PPG

Use of AI in Hiring

As part of our hiring process, we may use AI-enabled tools to support our hiring teams in writing job postings, reviewing and screening applications, as well as managing interview logistics. These tools aim to improve efficiency, consistency, and fairness, but decisions are made by our people. Applicants' personal information (e.g., resume, cover letter, qualifications, and application responses) may be processed by third-party AI-enabled tools for tasks like resume parsing, skills matching, candidate grouping and ordering, and interview scheduling. You can request to view and/or delete your data by submitting a request here.
The PPG's notice regarding the collection of personal information from interested candidates is available in the Global Candidate Data Privacy Statement.

Candidate Guidelines For AI Use In The Interviewing Process At PPG

At PPG, we embrace innovation—including the responsible use of AI—as part of the candidate experience. These guidelines outline how AI can support your interview preparation while ensuring authenticity, integrity, and ethical conduct throughout the hiring process.

Acceptable & Non-acceptable (unethical) uses of AI in the interviewing process :
Generate practice interview questions:
Use AI to deliver a realistic mock interview with adaptive follow-up questions tailored to the job and your resume.
Polish your stories:
Use AI to shape your experiences with the STAR method, clarifying real situations, actions, and results from your work.
Refine your delivery:
Practice with AI-powered tools that analyze your tone, pacing, and use of filler words. Use this feedback to become a clearer, more confident communicator.
Tailor your pitch:
Use AI to research the company, products, and industry, create talking points, and always verify the info.
Avoid memorizing scripts:
Reciting word-for-word answers generated by AI will sound unnatural and can quickly be exposed by follow-up questions
Avoid misrepresenting skills:
Do not use AI to invent or exaggerate skills and accomplishments. If you land the job, you will be expected to perform these tasks, and you risk early termination if you cannot.
Avoid avatar usage:
Avoid using Avatars. We encourage candidates to present their authentic self throughout the hiring process, as genuine engagement fosters meaningful connection.
Avoid using real-time assistance:
Attempting to use AI to generate answers during a virtual interview is unethical and easily detectable through unnatural pauses, eye movements, and generic responses.
