The EHS Manager position is an integral part of the regional EHS Team, covering four Coatings Services sites! Serving as the main contact for all EH&S aspects, this role may be based in Cedar Falls, Iowa (preferred) or Peru, Illinois.  This position will require regular travel between sites. The EHS Manager has direct responsibility to inform, consult and guide the sites on matters of Environmental, Health and Safety!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively interact with employees and leadership to promote the PPG EHS culture.
  • Drive key safety initiatives including Job Safety Analysis, site safety risk assessments, risk mitigation, and Management of Change.
  • Support site management and provides coaching and review of incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Facilitate internal audits and self-assessments.
  • Advise and assist department managers/supervisors with EHS training.
  • Develop and implement programs to reduce EHS risks.
  • Plan, organize, schedule and facilitate Sites EHS Leadership Teams.
  • Provides oversight and coordination of site’s metrics and reporting.
  • Provides incident and injury investigation and case management support to the sites.                                                 
  • Evaluate EHS Impacts of projects and assure EHS risk assessments are completed.
  • Provide oversight, audit readiness and guidance for compliance audits and corrective action management.
  • Initiates and manages specific EHS projects.
  • Provide assistance within the Midwest region as needed.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Engineering or Science with 6+ years of industrial experience, preferably in the environmental, health or safety area. 
  • Must have proven leadership and organization ability, possess good problem solving skills and be an effective written and oral communicator. 
  • Working knowledge of OSHA “General Industry” and EPA regulations required.
  • Knowledge in areas of industrial ergonomics, workers compensation, disability management, industrial hygiene and development and implementation of EHS programs is desired.
