As a Process Modeling Engineer, you will apply engineering principles to build mathematical models of chemical processes,. The ultimate goal in this position is to advance innovation, speed up product and process development, ensure robust process scale up, promote continuous improvement to manufacturing, and support customers for applications of PPG products!
Key Responsibilities 
•    Develop models to enable virtual simulation of PPG processes using data from the manufacturing plant and theoretical sources. 
•    Generate innovative concepts for new technologies using numerical techniques and identify potential research areas which would benefit new technology development.
•    Analyze results, summarize findings, and communicate these to managers and directors in research, engineering, and manufacturing.
•    Work with national labs and universities to advance modeling capability, expand capacity and accelerate model development.

•    Ph. D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Materials Engineering, or equivalent education with 5+ years computational experience for industrial product/process development. Or Master degree with 8+ years relevant experience
•    Proficiency in using Aspen Plus based process modeling.
•    Familiarity with commercial computational software packages such as ANSYS, Star-CCM+, COMSOL, M-Star CFD.
•    Ability to use statistical tools such as JMP to analyze data from various sources.
•    Capable of domestic travel up to 20%.
