PPG Architectural Coatings has a career opportunity for a Production Supervisor role at our Carrollton, TX facility! Are you ready for an exciting and dynamic career with an industry leader? As the Production Supervisor, you will lead rotating Shift Operations for the site and will be responsible for areas of production, distribution, and inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the shift production teams. Provide a safe healthy work environment for all employees through efficient maintenance of equipment, facilities, and elimination of health hazards to prevent work stoppage and time loss due to accidents, while ensuring adherence to all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations, standards and policies. Provide an effective management process to ensure safe work behavior by employees.
  • You will encourage a continuous improvement of individual and team performance, ensure training programs are in place, as well as aligning with all EEO policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the facilitation of regular production meetings to improve the communications between shifts and teams.
  • Promote open discussion of process improvements and techniques in order to drive the Plant toward cost and operating objectives. Present recommendations to the Production/Site Manager and implement approved programs.
  • Actively participate in implementing strategies and policies, which constantly improve the day-to-day and long-term operation. Provide input into decisions regarding direction, training, goal setting, corrective action, and other administrative functions.
  • Support the overall objectives of the Plant Leadership Team through active participation in plant projects and teams as requested. Back up Production/Site Manager as needed.


  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field is strongly preferred. In the absence of a degree, equivalent manufacturing experience with successful completion of PPG Supervisor Assessment will be considered.
  • 3 years minimum of manufacturing experience in a lead role or similar supervisory role required.
  • Detailed knowledge of manufacturing operations and safety procedures, with proven success in managing a safe and environmentally sound work environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a pro-active approach to interacting with employees at all levels of the organization as well as customers and suppliers.
  • Strong results orientation combined with the ability to make sound, reasoned decisions.
  • Prior experience in Lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma strongly preferred.
